Monthly reporting: 2 days to 2 hours through automation

Lai Chun Kit

I analyse sales, ads and competitor prices for four stores, present findings to the Honeywell and ASUS Business brand teams, and build the reporting tools.

Selected work

Screens are shared with my employer’s agreement. Real figures are hidden or replaced with made-up ones.

Monthly ads, sales and order reports for four stores

Monthly sales and order reports for four stores on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop; ads analysis for Shopee and Lazada.

Reporting fell from about two days to two hours.

  • Built browser tools and import checks for store, month, duplicate files and missing data.
  • Review confirmed orders, ad returns and wasted keyword spend to guide budget and campaign changes.

ASUS monthly business review

Prepared and presented four monthly ASUS Business reviews covering sales, the shopping funnel, ad returns and next month’s plan.

One data file kept the full deck, meeting deck and web review consistent.

Competitor price checks in Excel and Python

Automated Shopee competitor checks with Python collection and an Excel workbook covering 28 brands.

Daily checks grew from about 40 to 250 products during my internship.

  • Compare each product with the three cheapest sellers and flag a suggested price action.
  • Use VBA, Power Query and lookup formulas to organise products and keep brand sheets consistent.

Research and competitions

  • Final-year research, 2025. Forecasting Tesla market movement from news sentiment, comparing a statistical model with a neural network; nominated for Student Research Day 2025. Poster Slides Faculty post
  • RASIO 8.0 Data Science Competition, Oct 2024. Led the team that placed third (Universitas Padjadjaran, Indonesia) with an ASEAN economic recovery dashboard. Slides Certificate

Marketplace intelligence platform

Built the reporting platform, used by about 10 staff on the company server.

New data and uncertain AI product labels wait for staff review.

  • Designed the workflows, data rules and checks; used AI coding assistants for most code, then reviewed and tested changes.
  • Combined ads, income and competitor prices with staff permissions, change logs and release checks.

Finance apps: supplier claims and project profit

Built two finance apps for supplier claims and project profit, sharing the platform’s sign-in.

The claims app replaced a spreadsheet; approved profit statements are locked.

  • In supplier claims, check AI-extracted invoice or proof rows against the printed total and send differences for human review.
  • Track claim payments and credit-note allocations, and prevent duplicate or stale submissions.
